Breaking Ancestral Curses

Sunday, 14 January 2018 by adminjames

Breaking Ancestral Curses

A generational curse comes through the bloodline, which creates a vicious cycle of retrogression within your life, family, and finances. When someone within the family tree establishes a covenant with the devil through iniquity, this opens a portal for demonic spirits to initiate an ancestral curse in the bloodline. In Exodus 20:5-6, God warns the children of Israel not to follow false gods, saying, “You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.”

The word “iniquity” means to be bent toward a particular sin, which can be traced within your generation. Therefore, a child can be bent like his or her parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Scripture is clear: God visits the iniquity of the fathers upon the children up to the third and fourth generation (Exodus 20:5).

Do you struggle with a particular sin, poverty, sexual abuse, or addiction, or perhaps you struggle with marital infidelity? Maybe you’ve been told that this runs in the family tree and can identify a pattern in a past grandparent. These could be symptoms of a generational curse. The good news is that ancestral curses can be broken over your life and family through the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Stepping out of your comfort zone

Wednesday, 10 January 2018 by adminjames

The quest to your destiny demands stepping out of your comfort zone to fulfill your purpose in order to do exploits in God’s Kingdom. Your comfort zone is the highest order of self-sabotage and procrastination, for it’s the spirit of self-imposed limitations that hinders your success in life.

You must remove the roadblocks and barriers that you have placed on the path of your destiny, which seek to hold you back from stepping out of your comfort zone.
Peter stepped out of his comfort zone because he was willing to stretch his faith.

Some of the roadblocks that must be removed in order to walk on the water are

  1. Fear of change: This will keep you in your boat because it’s an unfamiliar territory.
  2. Fear of suffering and the pain it brings.
  3. Fear of criticism because you are different. This will cause you to bury your gift and live a mediocre life.
  4. Fear of ridicule.
  1. Fear of responsibility, because this comes with great power.
  1. Fear of failure and rejection.

It’s Time to Dream Again

Wednesday, 10 January 2018 by adminjames

Life can be very challenging and messy with a whirlwind of broken dreams and relationships, which can cloud your mind with no hope of dreaming again. Joseph had a dream that became a reality, but it took him to the pit, from the pit to prison, and from prison to the palace. It’s very easy to get frustrated, discouraged, and give up on your dream when you are going through a season of difficulties in which you cannot see your way out.

You can’t afford to give up on your dream by getting discouraged, for God knows where He is taking you and how to get you there regardless of the setbacks along the way. For there are many obstacles to overcome before a dream can become a reality. Naomi left Bethlehem with a dream of a better life and future only to discover that the water was bitter. She had great expectations to accomplish her dream but returned home disappointed, discouraged, and empty-handed.  God is a restorer of life, and he shall restore your joy so you can dream again.

Judging Personal Prophecy

Wednesday, 10 January 2018 by adminjames

Like a trainer’s manual God’s inspired Word provides us with biblical guidelines and principles to direct and help us properly respond to personal prophecy. Personal prophetic must be tested because it flow either from God, your own mind, or an evil spirit.

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God.”  I John 4:1

The gift of prophecy must not be despise, but rather desired, pursued and carefully examine or tested. 1 Cor.14:1; 1 Thess. 5:19-20  According to the dictionary, to despise means to treat with contempt or consider as unworthy of attention or interest. People often disregarded, rejected, quench, suppress and subdue prophecy because it comes out through the mouth of a human being who is imperfect. The only person who is infallible is Jesus Christ our Lord and personal Savior every person is capable of making mistake.

The Five Fold Ministry

Wednesday, 10 January 2018 by adminjames
The fingers of the hand symbolically represent the fivefold ministry that God sets up within the Church. Ephesians 4:11-13 And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
Apostle: (Govern)
Thumb: When looking at the hand the first thing you notice is the thumb. The thumb is obviously different to all the other fingers of the hand. The thumb is solid. It is shorter, fatter, blunter and set in the hand very differently to the other fingers. The thumb gives the hand its grip. In fact all the other fingers, although different to one another, have vast similarities and, compared to the thumb, are all basically the same, so it is easily understandable that they would all feel antagonistic towards the thumb, who always seems to be opposing them all yet cant seem to do what THEY all can! (Who does the thumb think he is?).Prophet:(Guide)
Index Finger: Closest to the Apostle, the forefinger is always pointing and saying, “This is the way, walk you in it!” He shows the way but is often blunt and to the point. He is the closest to the thumb so can work best and well with the Apostle. He is also closest to the middle finger and so the Prophet can work strongly with the evangelist as well.

Evangelist: (Gather)
Middle Finger: The middle finger is the longest and besides the thumb the strongest finger and is supported on all sides by the other fingers. He has the longest reach of all the fingers and can reach out the furthest to hook in and draw in others into the palm of the hand, where the whole hand clasps them and ministers to them caring, tend to and looking after them. Both the forefinger and middle finger work best with the thumb and can easily, firmly and strongly covered by the thumb (Apostle). These three then form the basis of a strong grip.

Pastor: (Guard)
Ring Finger: The ring finger is the one that wears the marriage ring. It represents the Pastor, the one who is married to the Church. This symbolizes the marriage between Christ and the Church. The Pastor is Caring, Loving and Gentle, showing a strong commitment to the Body. The Ring Finger is supported on either side by the longest and shortest fingers. The pastor cares for and leads the flock. He is the “Shepherd” of the flock the one who tends to all their needs and has the loving arms and large heart to encompass them all. He laughs and cries with them, provides spiritual food for the table and watch over them as a shepherd does with the sheep. Note they are not HIS sheep but the Lords!

Teacher: (Ground)
Little Finger: The little finger (pinkie) is the smallest finger, the shortest and thinnest, and the only one small enough to clean out the ears of the People. It is a most important job, the teacher, concerned with Minutia, Detail, Precision and so on. The Little Finger is almost separate from the rest of the hand, but is perfectly placed on the outer edge of the hand to catch those who are falling out of the palm of the hand, who are falling of the edge of the hand.

The Little finger is very important and is often needed to bring people back into the Hand, back in line. It is the last resort when all others have failed, appropriate teaching can save them going completely lost. But the Little Finger can’t function or work on its own! I is interesting to note that the last two fingers, ring and little finger, are almost inseparable, when the one moves the other must move in near unison.

Another interesting thing is that if the Little Finger lets go the grip is severely weakened. So the hands grip is simply and easily broken by removing the littlest finger from the grip by straitening it out, (try it!). The same happens if you straighten out the ring finger as well. So the littlest finger gives strength to the grip enabling the hand to firmly grasp what is in the palm and not loose it.

In summary, the Fivefold Ministry is a framework to grow, build and mature the Body of Christ to continue the workings of Jesus through the lives of the saints.

As Ephesians 4:11-16 teaches, the Fivefold Ministry should produce the following outcomes:

  • Equip the believers for works of the ministry
  • Build up the Body of Believers in spiritual growth and maturity
  • Building believers in the unity of faith
  • Increase in knowledge about God, Jesus and the Kingdom
  • Empowering believers in the faith with sound doctrine
  • Mature the saints to be able to stand in the face of the challenges and deceits of the world
