Breaking Ancestral Curses
A generational curse comes through the bloodline, which creates a vicious cycle of retrogression within your life, family, and finances. When someone within the family tree establishes a covenant with the devil through iniquity, this opens a portal for demonic spirits to initiate an ancestral curse in the bloodline. In Exodus 20:5-6, God warns the children of Israel not to follow false gods, saying, “You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.”
The word “iniquity” means to be bent toward a particular sin, which can be traced within your generation. Therefore, a child can be bent like his or her parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Scripture is clear: God visits the iniquity of the fathers upon the children up to the third and fourth generation (Exodus 20:5).

Maybe you’ve been told that this runs in the family tree and can identify a pattern in a past grandparent. These could be symptoms of a generational curse. The good news is that ancestral curses can be broken over your life and family through the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord.
